What to Expect at Your Installation
Our Residential and Business installation overview will help you understand what to expect at the time of install as we listen to your needs, wants, expectations and communicate how we can help. We want you to feel comfortable with our process and asking us questions. We do require a representative to be at the install to approve the antenna location, where we will run our cable, etc. The following is a high-level overview of what you can expect from your appointment below

From initial site assessment to final testing, we work around your business schedule and provide detailed documentation of your installation. For mission-critical applications, we offer expedited installation options and can provide temporary connectivity solutions during the setup process.

Residential Installation Overview
Your home internet installation is designed for convenience and minimal disruption. Our certified technicians will conduct a free site survey to ensure optimal placement, then professionally install your high-grade antenna and radio equipment—typically within 2-3 hours.
We handle all the technical details while you provide input on placement preferences. Your internet will be fully tested and operational before we leave, and we'll walk you through everything you need to know about your new high-speed connection.

Installation Questions
Do I need any special equipment?
No special equipment is required from you. Line-of-Sight reception within our coverage area is necessary for Etheric’s service. To establish this, we conduct a site survey (free of charge) of the property to receive service.
Most customers choose to add a router for these benefits:
- Support of multiple computers and devices
- Enhanced network security
- Local area WiFi coverage
Router Options: Etheric provides WiFi routers at an additional cost, or you can use a compatible router you already own. We do not support routers from other internet service providers (Comcast, Verizon, AT&T) as these may not be compatible with our service.
Our technicians are encouraged to discuss router options during installation to ensure you get the best performance from your Etheric internet connection.
Do you require a service contract?
Yes. We have a minimum 2-year contract for all customers. If you sign up for a three-year contract, you qualify for a discount off the service plan. Please contact sales to learn more.
A free site survey is performed to ensure that there are no obstructions to your location. Our goal is to deliver a smooth, accurate and timely installation.
Is there an installation charge?
Installation fees vary based on your specific location and service requirements. Our team will provide detailed installation information during your consultation.
Business Customers: Business Plan installation fees vary. Please email or call 650.399.4200 Ext 2 and speak with a Business Account Manager for a customized quote.
How long does an installation take?
Installation timeframes vary depending on whether Etheric Networks is already present in your building.
For buildings with existing Etheric infrastructure: Installation typically takes 2-3 hours once we have building access approval and can coordinate with your property manager.
For new buildings: If Etheric is not currently installed in your building, we work with property managers to evaluate the opportunity to bring high-speed internet service to the entire building. This process involves building assessment, infrastructure planning, and coordination with building management, which may take several weeks to complete.
Our team will coordinate with your property manager to determine the best approach for your specific situation and provide realistic timeframes during your consultation.
Do I need to be onsite for an installation?
Yes. When a technician installs your equipment, he or she is required to enter your home or business in order to establish a connection with your computer or router. The technician will enter your home to test the Internet connection and ensure it is fully functioning. For Business, we need access to any telco room and roof access.
Do you offer temporary internet service for events?
Yes, for business and construction clients only. Fixed Wireless is the perfect solution for reliable, high-speed Internet connectivity for building site offices, which are not only temporary but prone to moving around a construction site.
Etheric Networks offers Temporary Internet service for events, conference centers, construction sites, and much more. Whatever your time frame or business bandwidth needs, Etheric Networks can install a temporary Internet connection fast!
Will I need a site survey?
Yes. Prior to installation of services, an Etheric technician will perform a site survey to confirm line-of-sight to our tower. You will receive communication from an Etheric Business representative with the date and time of a survey.
What equipment do I need to provide?
WiFi Router Options: Etheric provides high-quality WiFi routers at an additional cost to ensure optimal performance with our internet service. We also work with routers you may already own, provided they meet our compatibility requirements.
We do not support routers from other internet service providers (Comcast, Verizon, AT&T branded equipment) as these may not be compatible with our network.

Will I receive an IP address?
Yes. We will provision our equipment prior to installation and send over all IP Address information via email for your records. This will have important contact information for Support, Billing and Sales for additional questions.
Will my internet be activated?
Yes. The Etheric technician will not leave your home or business until service is up and running. You are responsible for integrating and troubleshooting your own computer or network. Etheric will only support the Etheric owned devices.
